SOC 206: Aging and Society: PSA Information/ Examples

A Public Service Announcement or PSA for short is designed to raise awareness about an important topic to a specified audience usually in the form of a quick information video clip.

A PSA has a variety of components such as:

• Video Footage
• Images/Photos
• Music
• Text
• Voiceover/Narration

An effective PSA will include some if not all of the following:

• You need to grab the audience's attention and maintain their attention throughout your PSA.
• Your message needs to be clear, concise, and easy to understand for a wide range of audience members. 
• You should include factual evidence to convey the main message of your PSA. This may benefit from including supported data or statistics or quotes from professionals on your topic.
