Journals of Opinion

Some periodicals report new events in a factual manner; newspapers are an example of factual news reporting.

In some cases publications will be upfront with their point of view--this can be helpful!  For one it lets you know that publication has a market in mind.  Also, it allows you to engage on a point of view that isn't your own.  These are called journals of opinions.  They a Instructions for Paste and Spellcheck re periodicals/magazines that provide perspectives, commentaries, and opinions on newsworthy events. 

As we all know, opinions are rarely neutral, you can expect journals of opinion to have a political bias. Journals of opinion are useful periodicals to use when you need to find opposing viewpoints on an issue.

Challenge yourself to pick an issue and read about in the different publications below.
