WWCC Guidelines

Walla Walla Community College offers occasional and non-permanent exhibit space to connect faculty, staff, and local artists and their work with students, staff, and the general public.  We are committed to exhibiting artistic works that support our institution's values of connection, inclusion, and belonging and that aligns with our pedagogical and guiding principles for art curation.

Our Guiding Principles are:

  • Offering exhibits that seek to educate viewers.
  • Encouraging exhibits that reflect the diversity within our local community.
  • Creating opportunities for exchange between artists and students.
  • Creating an environment for our campus and broader community to see art and higher education as part of their lives.

Exhibits in the Library are currently by invitation only.  However, proposals for possible future exhibitions can be submitted to the Library Director and will be evaluated for inclusion by the Library Director and two Faculty members based on their alignment with our Guiding Principles and space availability. To apply for an exhibition, please send 10 high-quality digital images of your work along with an image list (with the artist’s name, title, medium, dimensions and date of completion), a resume and letter of interest. Submissions can be emailed to library@wwcc.edu.  The Library facilitates curation but will work with the artist as much as possible to honor appropriate display of their work.

Please note that WWCC does not provide insurance for damaged, lost, or stolen pieces of art and shall be held harmless if damage, loss, or theft occurs.  Artists are responsible for the cost of shipping and/or transporting their work to and from the gallery and for their own travel expenses.   The Library provides on campus publicity for the show and a reception (if provided). Artists are invited to participate in at least one event on campus to engage with our campus community about their work.
